Where’s Corey Thompson dot com? Seems that its off the grid until further notice. Crashola, etc. I’ve been assured that its being fixed, but whatever. I’m getting tired of this. My free hosting was olid. Why can’t paid hosting be? That’s two paid hosts that I’ve had crappy uptime with. It kinda makes you wonder why you pay…
Update:
My site is still offline and there doesn’t seem to be any movement from my host. I’m going to have to cut my losses, I think and perhaps get my database emailed to me for the most recent stuff and set up elsewhere. I’ve got an account at iifree.net which seems to be okay. We’ll see how that one goes. Perhaps I’ll park coreythompson.com there.
And its been down for a loooonnnngg time!!! I mean a couple of hours is one thing but this blackout is taking units of days! Outrageous I say!!! And you were about to recommend them too. Sad.
Not any more! The only real regret about the whole thing is that I don’t have a database back up less than about two weeks old. So, I’m hoping that they’ll be up soon, and I’ll back up all and set it up elsewhere. Its thimes like these that I am glad that I register the domain with another entity.
They are still down! I can’t believe it! They as a company must be scared right now realizing that when they come back online a significant fraction of thier customer base is going to flee for the hills as fast as possible! Have they given any indepth explanation as to what the problem is? Are they going to refund a portion of your money?
I’m not seeking a refund. Its $2.95/mo. I won’t waste my time.
Really? You don’t want to fight for you (3/31) x $2.95 = 29 cents? hahaahahahahahah (Calculations based on 3 day downtime. Actual downtime will probably be longer.):-)
I’m worth way more than that.
Well it seems I am not alone. I have a forum set up with them as well and like you I am weeks behind in my database lol. I set my forum up on another host I use for a different site but without the most recent databse I am lost. They first told me it was a load issue in the server then they said they lost 2 drives and it would be back up within 48 hours. They said that Friday night. Today they told me they tried repairing the bad sectors but the server still wont boot? Come on now just replace the drives restore the system and get us back online is what I say.
Mo kidding! You can’t host you customers on a drive that you know is failing. I’ve actually started pointing the domain at my Frihost space. They have free cPanel hosting and none of the hassles of that paid host. I will look into paid hosting int he future, but I think its likely going to be Friendlier or H9.
